Farmers in Prince Edward County can expect a visit soon as part of a Local Food project taking place across the region.
Surveys to determine needs and opportunities for business dealing with local food started in late May, when volunteers visited companies that process food, as well as small grocery stores and restaurants that have local food as part of their offerings. The Regional Local Food Business Retention and Expansion Project involves communities between Lindsay and Frontenac County. The second round of interviews is now ready to begin, with farmers being added to the mix.
