sod restored to TO park

Sod growers restore green space

In an effort to deliver the message of the importance of green space in city centers the Nursery Sod Growers Association would like to recognize the goodwill of the NSGA Members who have donated sod to this cause.

Sod farmers across Ontario donated 8 truckloads of sod to repair damage to St. James Park in Toronto caused by the 40 day Occupy Toronto protest.

Landscape Ontario contacted NSGA board members in an effort to organize the restoration of the park.

LO has organized topsoil and contractors to prepare the 11,000 sq meter site, sod was delivered and installed on December 6th and 7th, 2011.
