Belleville has adopted a five-year energy conservation plan that officials say will save the city money.
In a report to city council recently, property manager Joel Carr-Braint says there are a number of low-cost initiatives available to jump-start energy savings and dollar savings.
The report outlines some measures being proposed for the future, ranging from $400 for faucet aerators at city hall to four projects at $100,000 each at the Quinte Sports Centre.
Those include the old rink chilling system upgrade and a roof replacement for the original building.
