The Township of Cramahe is getting some government money to make upgrades to their wastewater treatment plant.
“Residents will benefit from safer, sustainable infrastructure and improved critical services following upgrades made to the Colborne Wastewater Treatment Plant,” says Member of Parliament Rick Norlock in a news release Friday.
The $6.1 million upgrade to the plant will involve constructing a new effluent pumping station, an outfall pipeline, and a diffuser in Lake Ontario.
In addition, the existing aeration system was upgraded and sludge from the polishing pond has been removed.
