The provincial Ministry of the Environment is continuing technical discussions with Astoria Organics, the company that wants to build a composting facility on Philipston Road in Thurlow Ward.
Talks are on going at the ministry’s Kingston office.
Many residents in the area oppose the plan and the city has concerns about the effect of heavy trucks on the condition of the roadway.
Last month Belleville rejected a bid by Astoria to have the city share the cost of about $4 million of required road upgrading.
Public comment on air and waste issues have closed, but the public can still comment on storm water issues until this Friday.
