A group fighting the construction of nine industrial wind turbines in Prince Edward County will have one more chance to appeal the project.
The Court of Appeal for Ontario will hear The Prince Edward County Field Naturalists’ case on December 8 and 9 in Toronto.
The Naturalists’ opposition to the plan by Gilead Power has been based on the belief that Ostrander Point is the wrong place for the turbines for many reasons, including migrating birds, bats, butterflies and Alvar habitat.
Six months ago an Ontario Divisional court panel over-turned an Environmental Review Tribunal’s finding and ruled in favour of an appeal by the developer and the Ministry of Environment, thereby giving the green light for the development.
