The opening of the Northumberland Land Trust’s 2014-15 Lecture Series will feature prairie restoration specialist Kristina Hubert.
Kristina is an expert on prairie restoration, having worked in this field with the Nature Conservancy of Canada, Alderville Black Oak Savanna, and Ontario’s Ministry of Natural Resources.
On Thursday November 13, enjoy a presentation on the history of this endangered ecosystem located on the eastern edge of the Oak Ridges Moraine. Hear about the pressures facing the distribution of grassland species and habitats and learn about management practices carried out to restore and preserve these ecological communities supporting rare species.
It’s at the Cobourg Community Centre located at 50 D’Arcy Street in Cobourg.
All ages are welcome as interactive material will be provided. There is no charge for the evening. Light refreshments at 7:00 PM with speaker beginning at 7:30 PM.
