The Kawartha Farm Stewardship Collaborative is hosting its 3rd Annual Kawartha Farm Stewardship Workshop. The event is designed to celebrate the stewardship achievements of the past year, and to inform the farming community about the resources available to support on-farm stewardship. This full-day workshop will feature presentations on topics such as:
- practical strategies for reducing neonicotinoid use (Greg Stewart, OMAFRA)
- creative options and solutions for livestock watering
- benefits of wetlands and biofilters in farm drainage
- 4R’s of nutrient stewardship
- funding sources and technical support available

The Stewardship Collaborative consists of eleven local & provincial partner organizations (Lower Trent, Ganaraska, Kawartha, Lake Simcoe Region & Otonabee Conservation Authorities, Bay of Quinte Remedial Action Plan, Ducks Unlimited Canada, Farms at Work, Ministry of Natural Resources & Forestry, Ontario Soil & Crop Improvement Association, and the Peterborough County Stewardship Council) that work together to assist the agricultural communities of east central Ontario in carrying out on-farm environmental projects and stewardship.
