With the cold weather Saturday morning came frost, and farms may be hit hard.
The owner of Campbell Orchards, Colin Campbell, says he’s been up since 4 a.m. trying to prevent the frost from hurting the fruit.
He says tomatoes may still be alive, but it’s unclear if the strawberries will make it.
Elsewhere, Prince Edward County farmer Lloyd Crowe says he has to wait and see if there will be any damage to his crops.
He says thousands of acres of corn could be ruined.
