The Prince Edward County Field Naturalist group is astounded by the Ministry of Environment approval of the WPD White Pines wind farm in South Marysburgh and Athol wards.
Field Naturalists Past President Cheryl Anderson says the group is still in a legal process to stop wind turbines at Ostrander Point, which is in the same area as White Pines.
The Ministry decision to allow 27 wind turbines on the County’s south shore can be appealed to the provinces’ Environmental Review Tribunal within 15 days.
Cheryl Anderson says it’s unlikely the Field Naturalists will appeal White Pines, as they still owe over 100 thousand dollars in legal fees in their ongoing legal challenge of a wind farm at Ostrander Point.
