As the Tribunal Hearing on the Ostrander Point wind turbine project is adjourned until October, a rally to raise funds in another wind appeal in the County is gearing up.
Two months ago the Ministry of Environment gave Renewable Energy Approval for WPD White Pines to construct a 59 megawatt wind farm in South Marysburgh and Athol.
The rally is being organized by one of the project appellants – The Alliance to Protect Prince Edward County.
South Marysburgh councillor Steven Ferguson says he has heard court costs are in the $250,000 range.
At the event this Sunday there will be there will be guest speakers, information and displays on industrial wind turbines in relation to size, noise, impacts on wildlife and heritage along with live entertainment and food.
It is at the Milford Mount Tabor Fairgrounds from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
