Stargazers are in for a real treat tonight as this will be the first time since 1982 we have had a supermoon eclipse. The next will be in 2033.
1) Supermoon: The moon will be at its closest point in its orbit around the Earth, making it appear 14% larger and 33% brighter (super moon).
2) Blood Moon: During the eclipse the moon will not be completely dark but rather have a reddish appearance.
3) The best chances for viewing (cloud wise) will be over New England. Chances decrease (due to clouds) farther south over the Mid Atlantic and west toward Western NY/Great Lakes. This places our area in the middle with better viewing chances from near Syracuse/Binghamton/Scranton east, but everyone has a decent shot to see this.
