It took about seven months but Quinte Conservation officials say the watershed is finally out of a low water condition.
Recent rainfall has led to improved stream flows and water levels in most parts of the watershed, enough to lift the warning, even though some homeowners are still reporting low water levels in their wells.
On Friday, General Manager Terry Murphy said even though things have improved, we’re still not 100% back to normal and we likely won’t see full relief from the poor conditions until the spring thaw.
Quinte Conservation declared a level one low water condition at the start of June last year and as upgraded to a Level 3 condition in August.
