The Hastings and Prince Edward Health Unit has issued a precautionary boil water advisory for the northern portion of Prince Edward County in response to Wednesday morning’s watermain break at the Trenton water supply facility.
As a result of the water main break, lower than normal water pressures have been reported by customers on the Carrying Place and Consecon water system.
A water boil advisory remains in place for Trenton customers west of the Trent River.
As a precautionary measure, the Hastings and Prince Edward Health Unit is advising all residents bring water to a rapid boil for at least one minute before using it for domestic purposes. (i.e. drinking, making infant formula, brushing teeth, washing raw foods, making ice, etc.)
The boil water advisory will remain in place until water testing deems the supply safe to drink.
