Quinte Conservation downgrades flood warning

Even though we got hit with a bunch of rain overnight, water levels on the Bay of Quinte have dropped enough that Quinte Conservation is downgrading its flood warning to a flood watch.

Water levels on Lake Ontario have dropped more than 60 centimetres since they peaked near the end of May, but there’s still a potential for flooding in some parts of the watershed and shoreline property owners should be prepared.

Property owners are also reminded that a permit must be issued by Quinte Conservation before they can do any work to shoreline areas that may have been damaged by flooding earlier in the season.

This flood watch is in effect until at least September 29.
