February weather out of the norm locally

Last month was warmer and wetter than a usual February in the Quinte region.

According to readings taken from CFB Trenton and published by Environment Canada, the average temperature last month was minus 3.3 degrees Celsius.

Over the years, the average temperature for a February in this area is minus 5.7.

Meanwhile, we received more snow and rain last month than is usual, at 41 mm of rain and 47 cm of snow.

Total precipitation was 80 mm.

The normal amount of precipitation for February, rain and snow included, is 56 mm.

Environment Canada only reported 26 out of 28 days.
