Campbellford man fined for hunting violations

A Campbellford man has had to pay some fines to the Ministry of Natural Resources after pleading guilty to some hunting offences that happened last October.

Conservation officers on a butcher shop enforcement blitz inspected a white tail deer carcass at a Norwood butcher shop and determined the animal had been killed by Henry Zelasko.

MNR investigators say Zelasko killed the deer while bow hunting and didn’t have his licence or game seal with him, then transported the deer to the shop without a seal attached.

After making his plea, Zelasko was fined a total of $2,250.

The deer was forfeited to the Crown and donated to a local charity.
