In celebration of its 50th anniversary year, Lower Trent Conservation has launched a fun and exciting online photo contest in conjunction with Conservation Ontario’s annual Healthy HikesT initiative.
The 50th Celebration Selfie Contest is an opportunity for outdoor enthusiasts to `Step into Nature’ and win one of three awesome prizes including:
* 1st prize: 10 ft Pelican Summit 100 Kayak courtesy of Canadian Tire- Trenton (total value $460)
* 2nd prize: ‘Golfer’s Delight Package’ featuring green fees and golf carts for a foursome courtesy of Timber Ridge Golf Course and 3 boxes (dozen per box) of Lynx ‘Black Cat’ golf balls courtesy of Leon’s -Trenton (total
package value $425)
* 3rd prize: $100 grocery gift card courtesy of Sobeys in Brighton
To enter, contestants are asked to visit one (or more!) of Lower Trent Conservation’s 10 beautiful, free-to-access local conservation areas and take a photo of themselves (or with family/friends), then post the photo
online to their social media page(s).
Photos must be posted on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram with the phrase “Happy 50th Lower Trent Conservation”
and the hashtags #LowerTrent50 and #HealthyHikes.
“We’re excited about this contest not only because it’s fun to give away prizes, but it’s also a great way to showcase our gorgeous conservation areas while promoting the importance of spending quality time in the great outdoors,” says Glenda Rodgers, Lower Trent Conservation CAO. “Being in nature is well-known for benefitting both body and mind.”
The 50th Celebration Selfie Contest runs from now until October 31st, 2018 and is open to residents of Ontario who are 16 years of age or older. Contestants are encouraged to post often as every new photo posted is valid for entry into the contest.
Lower Trent’s conservation lands include Bleasdell Boulder, Glen Miller, Goodrich-Loomis, Haldimand, Kings Mill, Proctor Park, Sager, Seymour, Trenton Greenbelt, and Warkworth conservation areas.
