Snow and ice melt can cause problems

The warm weather and the subsequent fast melting is causing fast, potentially dangerous water flows in creeks and streams in the Quinte region.
Lower Trent Conservation has issued a water safety advisory for its area.
Ice jamming on creeks could cause some minor flooding in low lying areas.
People should avoid being near creek banks, culverts, dams and bridges.
The agency also warns that ice on the Bay of Quinte and Trent River should be considered extremely unsafe.
