It was a wet one

The Quinte region received a good soaking on Thursday.

According to Environment Canada and readings taken at CFB Trenton, 23.6 millimetres or almost an inch of rain fell yesterday.

That was just one millimetre short of the record rain for a May 9 which occurred in 1974.

Meanwhile, the record rain for today’s date, May 10, is 28.4 mm, set 66 years ago in 1952.
