A ceremony will be held at Woodbeck Auto Parts in Stirling tomorrow to recognize its success in collecting used tires.
The Tire Take Back Days event, organized by the Ontario Tire Stewardship and the Ontario Automotive Recyclers Association, collected 480-thousand tires over two days in late May. It also raised almost 124-thousand dollars for the Sunshine Foundation of Canada, which will use the money to fulfill the wishes of children with severe physical disabilities and life-threatening illnesses. Woodbeck won the province-wide competition to collect the most tires, picking up 4,011 of them, and raise the most money for charity. A cheque will be presented at the Stirling location tomorrow to the foundation.
