An environment group claims grassroots opposition to Premier McGuinty’s industrial wind stratgy and Green Energy Act is responsible for the election losses of Education Minister Leona Dombrowsky and other cabinet ministers.
Wind Concerns Ontario says its campaign against the Liberals resulted in the defeat yesterday of Dombrowsky, Agriculture Minister Carol Mitchell and Environment Minister John Wilkinson. It also claims it was influential in knocking off Northumberland-Quinte West Liberal Lou Rinaldi. The group wants a moratorium put in place on all industrial wind development until an independent third party epidemiological health study can determine safe setbacks from industrial turbines and local democracy is restored to planning decisions.
