In this week’s Water Wednesday post, Quinte Conservation says certain activities around your well water supply can impact your water quality.
Creating a groundwater protection zone can identify and manage risks to your drinking water source.
To make this type of protection zone, you simply draw or imagine a circle around your well and ensure no activities that could harm your water source are occurring in that area.
It is recommended that you have a minimum protection radius of 100 metres, or to the boundary of your property line, whichever one you reach first.
Every Wednesday through July 5, Quinte Conservation will be sharing tips to protect drinking water sources.
Quinte Conservation says be #WaterWise and visit Best Practices for Source Water Protection to learn how to protect your drinking water.
