UPDATE: Lower Trent Conservation updating floodplain mapping – session rescheduled

UPDATE: The Butler Creek and Arena Creek Public Information Centre scheduled for January 9 has been rescheduled to January 30 due to inclement weather.

Lower Trent Conservation is holding several Public Information Centres this month as it updates its floodplain mapping.

LTC says accurate floodplain mapping is needed in the vicinity of large creeks to ensure the public are aware of existing flood hazard risks and to allow for effective planning and regulation decisions.

The Conservation Authority has partnered with local municipalities along with provincial and federal partners to complete floodplain mapping updates.

The first session will involve Butler Creek and Arena Creek.

Location: Owen Gibb Community Centre – King Edward Park, 75 Elizabeth Street, Brighton, ON

The next session will be for Rawdon Creek.

Date & Time: January 16, 2024, 5:00pm to 7:00pm
Location: Stirling-Rawdon Council Chambers, 2529 Stirling-Marmora Road, Stirling, ON

 

A third session will involve Mayhew Creek and Cold Creek.

Date & Time: January 23, 2024, 5:00pm to 7:00pm
Location: City of Quinte West Council Chambers, 7 Creswell Street, Trenton, ON

 

The final session will be for Colborne Creek.
