Signs designed by two local students will posted around Prince Edward County to discourage littering.
The municipality hosted its inaugural anti-litter sign design contest in March inviting County students to submit design ideas.
There was an overwhelming response with hundreds of entries submitted.
Alia (local Grade 8 student) and Ellie (local Grade 6 student) were recognized as the winners of the anti-littering sign design contest at the April 9 Council meeting by Mayor Steve Ferguson on behalf of Council.
The winning designs will be used on signs in areas where littering and dumping commonly occur and in local newspapers.
