Quinte Conservation has temporarily closed all of its conservation areas to allow for cleanup following the weekend ice storm.
Officials say the storm caused damage to many trails.
Field Operations staff are working diligently to clear hazard trees, but this will take time as there are over 75 km of trails throughout the 13 conservation areas that Quinte Conservation manages.
Staff may be using heavy equipment to move downed trees and other debris.
The Conservation Authority is asking the public to respect the temporary closure.
An alert will be posted to quinteconservation.ca once the areas are re-opened for public use.
A full list of Quinte’s conservation areas can be found at quinteconservation.ca/areas.
