The 25th annual Quinte Trash Bash is coming up on Saturday, April 26 in Belleville, Prince Edward County, Quinte West and Tyendinaga Township.
Quinte Trash Bash is a community-wide spring cleanup that brings people together to clean up roadsides, parks and other public spaces across the Quinte region.
The event, happening at the end of Earth Week, aims to create a cleaner, healthier environment.
Each participating community will provide supplies in advance and on the day of the event.
Visit quintetrashbash.ca for more information on supply kit pick-up and garbage drop-off locations.
“Cleaning up even a small area can make a big difference in protecting our environment,” said City of Quinte West Mayor Jim Harrison. “Quinte Trash Bash is a chance for families, friends and community groups to come together, take action and leave a positive impact for future generations one park, trail and roadside at a time.”
“Quinte Trash Bash is such an important annual event in our city and surrounding communities,” said City of Belleville Mayor Neil Ellis. “By taking care of our environment, we are taking care of each other and guaranteeing a clean community for years to come. We are teaching future generations the importance of green efforts.”
“I am heartened every year to see the community spirit on display during the Owen Jones Memorial Clean-up Day as part of the Quinte Trash Bash,” said Prince Edward County Mayor Steve Ferguson. “We continue to honour the memory of Owen and his dedication to making the world around him a little bit better. I encourage everyone to get involved on April 26 and do your small part to pitch in and help improve Prince Edward County.”
